It’s all about talking and listening. But for that you need a special kind of space. They had it in the past and it was one of the most common things. They had no microphones and sound speakers and they could listen to each other without problems. Why are we so obsessed with the microphones? Its not like that before microphones and speakers there were no gatherings and “protests”.
When we wanted to make such a space there were only chairs and tables available. That was not enough. Therefore I began to search for all types of “tribunes” and found only industrial made tribunes mostly designed for watching. I wanted Agora! I wanted parliaments.
Then my friends established big “Javna Tribuna” (Public tribune) and I pointed out that the problem is not the lack of public but of tribunes. This event pushed me to research more about it and I found a photo which could work.
.
This picture was essential because it made me think that it is possible to build the Public Parliaments.
Before I called my carpenter friend I established three rules:
- parliament must be portable
- can be easily made
- must be afordable
After the lenghtly discussion and brainstorming the problem remained: these parliaments, as seen in the picture above, cannot go in to the car and are not so easy to make.
Than one night …
Than one night, after a lot of searchin, the image of a small shelve or a display for tee cups poped up in my mind. Why bother with the triange which can not go in to the car – just put two boards behind it – they will carry all the weight and balance.
First thing next morning i went to kitchen and for the first time in my life i started making a “maketa”.
I send these pictures to Armin, my carpenter friend, and he said: “opa, hot hot” This was 31st of may 2021.
And the rest is future.
Currently (after six month), there is one public parliament in the world.
